Our Story

    About Us

Bringing together local artisans, food producers, and communities across Malta since 2011.

Launched in May 2011 in Vittoriosa, the Malta Artisan Markets – Malta's original artisan market – has taken place in numerous beautiful historic settings in Malta including Couvre Porte, Birgu; Senglea; Kalkara, Palazzo de Piro in Mdina, Palazzo Parisio in Naxxar, Fort St. Elmo in Valletta, Is-Suq tal-Belt & Fort Manoel together with the Easter and Christmas Markets at the Phoenicia, Cavalieri Art Hotel and other private venues and also forming part of large events.

The markets have been warmly welcomed on the local scene and have given locals and visitors to Malta the opportunity to buy locally produced, fresh, high quality, affordable products direct from carefully selected food producers, artists and craftspeople.

Organised by The Definitive(ly) Good Guide Co – publishers of The Definitive(ly) Good Guide to Restaurants in Malta & Gozo and The Malta Kids Directory, and organisers of Offbeat Malta Food Trails – the markets provide a unique platform for local talent to connect directly with their community.

Malta Artisan Markets began in 2011 with a simple mission: to create a platform where local artisans could showcase their handmade products to an appreciative audience. What started as a small gathering has grown into one of Malta's most beloved community events, celebrating craftsmanship, creativity, and the spirit of local enterprise.

We are dedicated to promoting quality local arts, crafts, and food products while providing a professional, welcoming environment for both artisans and visitors. Our markets celebrate creativity, craftsmanship, and the vibrant spirit of Malta's artisan community.
